Voters in four parts of the listening area have ballot issues to weigh in Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Pettis and Benton County voters, as well as those in the Otterville R-VI District, are being asked whether to increase the operating tax levy for State Fair Community College by a dime to $0.4993 per $100 of assessed valuation. Cooper County election officials note that only the Otterville and Kelly precincts are voting on the proposed levy, and will cast their votes at the Otterville precinct. Meanwhile, about 30 eligible voters in Saline and Johnson counties will need to cast their votes at a specially assigned precinct in Pettis County, and have received that information in the mail.

Voters in the Morgan County R-I School District in Stover, which also involves voters in parts of Benton County, will decide on a proposed tax levy increase of 63 cents to fund a $15 million sports complex, allowing Stover baseball and softball to compete in town rather than have their home games in Versailles. If passed, the tax levy would increase to $3.9246 per 100 dollars of assessed valuation for the next 20 years.

Marceline residents will need to consider the fate of a proposed bond measure totaling $30 million that will fund improvements to the city’s waterworks and wastewater system. Voters in Fayette will weigh in on a proposal to change the elected city marshal position to an appointed chief of police.

The polls are open Tuesday until 7 p.m.
