
The No. 4 Missouri Valley College women’s soccer team finished an undefeated regular season, and has put eight of its student-athletes on the 2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, including the conference Player of the Year.
Leading the selections is Defender Marta Carrasco Mesa who was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Year and the Heart Co-Player of the Year, earning both honors for the second-straight season. During the regular season, Carrasco Mesa scored four goals and added a team-high six assists. She anchored a Viking defense that gave up only 15 goals throughout the season. Carrasco Mesa is the only player in program-history to earn the Heart Player of the Year and Heart Defensive Player of the Year honors. Additionally, Carrasco Mesa was a first team all-conference selection for the second-straight season, and earned all-conference honors for the third time in her career.
Also named to the all-conference first team were Defender Daijah White, Midfielder Judit Ferre, and Forward Ashley Arribas. Additionally, Goalkeeper Marina Barbara Bujalance, Defender Lucia Torres Vizcaino, Midfielder Carla Carmona, and Forward Marlene Flores were all named to the all-conference second team.
The women’s soccer team enters postseason play currently ranked No. 4 in the latest NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, and finished with the program’s first-ever undefeated regular season.
Missouri Valley is the No. 2 seed in the Heart Postseason Championship, and defeated No. 7 seed Missouri Baptist 5-0 in the quarterfinals Wednesday, Nov. 5. Five different Vikings netted goals, while the defense limited Missouri Baptist to one shot on goal. The Vikings will next host No. 3 seed MidAmerica Nazarene for the semifinal round of the Heart Postseason Championship, at 7 p.m. Saturday inside Volney C. Ashford Stadium. Elsewhere in the conference tournament, top-seeded Central Methodist shut out Mount Mercy 3-0, while Benedictine needed just one goal to defeat Park. Central Methodist will host Benedictine in a semifinal Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
