cu-of-some-chili

The Marshall Trilumina Lodge #205 is putting together a weekly soup kitchen to aid those in need during the Federal Government shutdown.

Due to the shutdown, many residents relying on government programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be without those resources. The Marshall Trilumina Lodge is hosting a meal every Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the lodge at 100 East Morrow beginning November 11. The meal is free to anyone in need. Lodge Master James Hieronymus says a service like this is greatly needed in the community right now.

The meal will include either soup or chili with tea or water to drink. The lodge is accepting donations to help cover the costs of the meals. Lodge member Michael Thomas says the ultimate goal is to try and get other organizations in the community to host similar events on different days throughout the week.

Anyone wishing to donate or volunteer can contact the Marshall Trilumina Lodge #205 at 660-229-3787.
