MLB Silver Slugger award winners were announced Thursday and Friday, with Kansas City shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. earning the award for the second straight season.

Witt had another great season, hitting .295 with 23 homers, and an .852 OPS. Witt also joins Salvador Perez, George Brett and Willie Wilson as the only Royals players to win multiple Silver Slugger Awards.

Several other Royals were named as finalists for the Silver Slugger award, but came up short. Catcher Salvador Perez lost out to Seattle’s Cal Raleigh, first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino lost to Nick Kurtz of the Athletics, and Detroit’s Zach McKinstry beat out Maikel Garcia for the Utility player award.

In the National League, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder and first baseman Alec Burleson won the Utility Silver Slugger award, finishing the 2025 season with 18 home runs, 69 RBIs, and a .290 batting average. Burleson beat out his teammate Brendan Donovan and San Diego’s Jake Cronenworth.
