The St Louis Blues needed all 38 of Jordan Binnington’s saves to preserve their lead, as the Blues defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Enterprise Center.

Oscar Sundqvist recorded assists on two goals, including the first goal of the season for Matthew Kessel with six minutes to go in the opening period. Dylan Holloway opened the scoring for the Blues by tipping the puck into the net on a power play. Nathan Walker added his goal in the second period. However, the league’s current basement dwellers were determined to get out of that position, scoring both their goals in a 25-second time frame. The Flames outshot the Blues 40-31, including 16 shots in the third period that Binnington successfully kept out.

The Blues have won three of their last five and now sit seventh in the Central Division on 15 points. Nine of those points were picked up against Canadian teams. The home stand continues Friday for St Louis when they welcome Philadelphia; puck drop is at 7 p.m.
