One of the updated policies approved Tuesday, Nov. 11 by the Carrollton R-VII School Board of Education will aim to increase student access to healthier food options during the school day.
Supt. Dr Tinna Croy says the board opted to adjust the wording on the policy, as to not eliminate all options currently available to students.
Croy says the new policy adjusted procedures at each of the district’s buildings.
Croy says the board reviewed most policies included in the most recent slate of revisions provided by the Missouri School Boards Association. One policy they won’t go forward with adopting pertains to the use of artificial intelligence, which Croy says has not seen widespread adoption in the district’s classroom at this time.
Also Tuesday night, the board received reports from the library media center, fine arts, and technology, as well as the annual dyslexia report and an update on the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. The board also recognized Brody Swindler, who finished seventh in his social science division at the Agriscience Fair during last month’s National FFA Convention.
