The Glasgow Board of Aldermen approved a rezoning request for the future site of the city’s medical clinic.

At their Monday, Nov. 10 meeting, the board approved a request to change the zoning of the new location for the Boone Health Medical Clinic from residential to commercial. Mayor Donald Clear says construction crews are looking to have the clinic open next summer, if not sooner.

The clinic will relocate from its current location on Market Street in downtown Glasgow. The new site is the latest construction project to come to Glasgow, following the opening of Heritage Wood Cabinets last month.

And Glasgow residents are also making use of two bridges that recently reopened after construction work. Clear notes that some work is still pending for the Industrial Road bridge over Greggs Creek.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the Glasgow Board of Aldermen approved a deal to have Tesseon handle the city’s human resources needs. Clear says the goal is to lighten the work load on employees at city hall. He anticipates a net savings of $3000-4000 per year from the move.
