Shoulder work will take place along state highways in three area counties this week.
Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will conduct flagging operations on Route 23 around Whiteman Air Force Base to allow for shoulder repairs. The operations are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17 through Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Shoulder repairs are also continuing on Route 240 this week from Route W to County Road 419 south of Fayette, and Route O through Moniteau County.
A number of culvert replacements are also scheduled this week. Monday, Route F north of Chilhowee between Route BB and Southwest 800 Road will have flag crews directing traffic through a culvert replacement work zone. Route MM north of Knob Noster between Northeast 500 and Northeast 951 Road will close Tuesday from about 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for another project. Two culverts are set for replacement in Cooper County: Route 87 at Cave Creek Road north of Prairie Home Monday and Route OO just west of the intersection with Route 135 on Tuesday. In Moniteau County, Route F east of Latham will remain reduced to one lane in areas where more culvert replacements are scheduled this week, with crews flagging traffic through each work zone.
A lane restriction is going in place along U.S. Route 36 over the Chariton River this week. Maintenance work is scheduled for the bridges in Macon County, with a 12-foot width restriction in place when crews are actively working. The work is scheduled each day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Brush cutting operations along Route 224 in the western edge of Lexington will close the roadway Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional roadside work is planned this week in northern Howard County along Routes JJ and T.
All projects are weather dependent and subject to rescheduling.
