The NCAA Division II football playoffs will feature two Missouri programs in their field of 32, including a school ending a 31-year drought.

For the first time since 1994, the Truman State Bulldogs have qualified for the D-II playoffs. The ‘Dogs wrapped up the regular season 8-3, claiming a 45-13 win at McKendree. Truman drew the six seed in their super-region, and will travel to Indianapolis for a rematch against the GLVC champion Greyhounds. UIndy claimed a 30-20 victory when the two teams played in Kirksville in September.

The Northwest Missouri Bearcats will make their 27th appearance in the NCAA playoffs as co-champions of the MIAA. The Bearcats are coming off a 27-14 loss against Pittsburg State to enter the playoffs with a 9-2 record. They’ll have a tall task if they want to make a deep run in the playoffs, as the Bearcats will have their first round game in Searcy, Ark., against the undefeated Harding Bison.

The first round of the playoffs will take place Saturday, Nov. 22.
