The Marshall High School Lady Owls Basketball team is entering the 2025-2026 season with a new leader on the sidelines, with the team now under the helm of Head Coach Ramone Powell.

The Lady Owls finished the 2024-2025 season with a 6-20 record, ending the year with a 59-45 loss to Knob Noster in the Class 4 District 14 tournament. Powell spent more than a decade as an assistant with the Missouri Valley College Men’s Basketball team. He says he learned a lot from former MVC Men’s Coach Chad Lance during his time with the program.

 

The Lady Owls are returning several key players from last year’s team, including Taylor Fann, Avionna Carter, Aidyn Wilcoxson, Saniya Powell, and Nevaeh Campbell.

Coach Powell discusses what he’s been doing to prepare his team for the season ahead.

 

The Lady Owls host Smith-Cotton, Odessa, and St. Paul for their jamboree on Wednesday. Marshall begins the season with a boys and girls doubleheader on Friday at Sweet Springs.
