Marshall city staff continue to review a citizen request seeking the establishment of a four-way stop at an area intersection.
Administrator JD Kehrman noted at the previous city council meeting that residents near the intersection of Vest and Ellsworth have expressed concern about vehicles speeding down Ellsworth. Currently traffic on Vest stops at Ellsworth, but the request is to have city crews also install stop signs on Ellsworth. Kehrman explains the steps the city is taking to gauge whether the change will make a positive difference on traffic in the area.
With staff continuing to study the idea, the item will not come up as an agenda item at the Tuesday, Nov. 18 Marshall City Council meeting. The agenda calls for the council to consider an appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission, authorize payment to Emery Sapp and Sons for the parallel taxiway reconstruction project, and authorize the Board of Public Works to enter into an agreement with SOA Architecture. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the city council chambers at the City Office Building on North Lafayette.
