An elementary school in Sedalia will soon receive a donation to help its students learn to skate.
At their meeting Monday, Nov. 17, the Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education accepted the donation of skating equipment for students at Washington Elementary School. Supt. Todd Fraley says the donation comes from Dr Stuart Braverman of Bothwell Surgical Services.
The board also gave the go-ahead to seek bids during the first week of December for new windows at Smith-Cotton Junior High and Horace Mann Elementary.
Also Monday night, the board accepted the annual assessment and evaluations of the early childhood special education and Title One preschool, as well as Parents as Teachers. The district also approved their latest review of the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, as well as updates to the district’s literacy plan.
The board also approved the announcement for the April 7, 2026 general election, where three seats will go before voters. Fraley notes that at least one new face will appear on the board after the election, as Scott Gardner has announced he will not seek another term on the Sedalia board of education.
