
The Slater City Council welcomed a new member to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Ward 3 councilman Matt Campbell.
Josh Knox was sworn in and given the oath of office during the council’s meeting on Tuesday, November 18. Knox was appointed to the seat after Campbell announced his resignation on October 31.
Knox will occupy the seat until the April 7th General Municipal Election, with the unexpired term appearing on the ballot.
In other news from the meeting, Mayor Terry Jordan announced that the Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas tree lighting event has been moved to Monday, November 24th at 6 p.m.
