The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen approved the Transient Guest tax applications for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year during its meeting on Monday, November 17.

The board reviewed the applications, with the date set in January 2026. The board discussed potentially having two due dates for application, with half the funds being issued for the first round, and the other half being issued for the second round.

After some discussion, the board decided to leave the application process the same way it’s been done in the city previously, with the application due date set for January 16, 2026.

The Board of Aldermen also discussed the pick up of large items for residents. Aldermen discussed approving a roll off dumpster twice a year for residents wishing to dispose of large items. The board ultimately decided to have city staff look into options to bring a roll off dumpster to town for clean up.
