The Sedalia man accused of wearing a “Scream” mask before invading a home is also facing a separate tampering charge.

23-year-old Mario D Wilson waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday, Nov. 18 in a Pettis County courtroom, allowing both cases against him to proceed to the trial division. In their probable cause statement, Sedalia Police say that a resident near the intersection of West 20th Street and Warren discovered a key the morning of Oct. 28 that belonged to a white pickup parked in the vicinity. Witnesses told police that Wilson had been spotted in the vehicle the previous day, before he allegedly walked around a nearby residence wearing a “Scream” mask, then climbed into a window in the back of the home. Police say that when they searched the truck, they found the mask, a bag of bullets, and Wilson’s birth certificate. The statement goes on to note that Pettis County Joint Communications informed officers that the truck had been reported stolen in August.

In addition to the tampering charge, Wilson faces one count each of first-degree burglary and second-degree harassment. His next hearing is set for the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 1.
