Marshall Activities Director Kelly Callanan has been named the next activities director for the Boonville Pirates.
The Boonville R-I Board of Education made the announcement Friday, Nov. 21, after taking action at their meeting Wednesday evening. In the district’s statement, Boonville High School Principal Dr Brent Hodge says that he is excited to welcome Callanan to Boonville, adding: “His demonstrated leadership and commitment to students will allow us to continue and build upon the strong traditions and expectations that make Boonville High School Activities special.”
Callanan has served as Marshall’s activities director the past five years and is a graduate of Missouri Valley College and William Woods University. He will succeed Chris Shikles, who announced his retirement in September after 27 years at Boonville, including 18 years as the Pirates’ activities director.
