Born December 27, 1937, on the family farm in Flora, he was the son of the late Daniel Limback and Renata Stuenkel Limback.  He was baptized on January 9, 1938, and confirmed on May 13, 1951, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Flora.  He graduated from St. Peter Grade School in 1951, and Alma High School in 1955.  After high school graduation he went to work at General Motors in Kansas City.  On August 5, 1961, he married Vivian Block at First Lutheran Church in Paola, KS.  They lived in Independence for a year, Higginsville for three years, and then moved to Alma in 1965.

Roger and his brother, Loren, farmed the family farm until Roger started Limback Drainage, where he laid field tile and drained farm ground in Lafayette County and surrounding areas.  Many people knew Roger as “the dirt man.”  Paul Loges operated the tiling machine and helped Roger lay rural water lines, push snow, and whatever else customers needed.

Roger was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma where he held various offices through the years.  He served on the Alma Fire Protection District, Alma Police Department, and was an active member of Missouri Land Improvement Contractors of America.

He loved being a grandfather to his two granddaughters.  Jessica loved to go with grandpa to map tile lines and he was “Bucky” for the rides he gave her on his back.  Emily also rode along various places when he picked up parts or moved machinery.

He is survived by his wife Vivian, of the home; one son, Brent Limback (Angela) of Alma; two granddaughters, Jessica Glaser (Mitchell) of Severance, CO and Emily Bailey (Caden) of Gilford, MO; one great-granddaughter, Brentley Bailey; one brother, Loren Limback (Phyllis) of Alma; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Limback of Alma and Leona Smith of Paola, KS; a brother-in-law, Leslie Block (special friend Ginny Groves and her son, Mike Groves, who was considered a second son; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Limback; a sister, Anna Louise Limback; and brother-in-law, Gary Smith.
