The Thanksgiving holiday this week means several state and local offices will close not just Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025 for the holiday itself, but also Friday, Nov. 28.
Following Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe’s executive order directing state offices to remain closed Friday, Missouri State Highway Patrol driver testing locations around the state will only operate this week until Wednesday, and not reopen until Monday, Dec. 1. That also means that many license bureaus will not open this Thursday or Friday.
Many cities have also adjusted trash collection schedules. The City of Sedalia has announced that residents who normally have their trash picked up Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will need to have their bins to the curb a day earlier, as the city’s sanitation crews will run these routes beginning Monday. Those with Friday trash pick up will have their collection as normal.
