Sales and use tax collections were higher for Saline County in October, including the sixth instance of use tax revenue for the month exceeding $100,000.

According to figures from Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer, sales tax remitted to the county by the Missouri Department of Revenue this month, reflecting collections from October, totaled $123,021.21. That’s an increase of $4827.55 from the previous month, and $14,020.08 stronger than the same month a year ago. With one month to go, Saline County’s per-month average is up almost $2000 at $117,758.50. Similar margins were reported for the economic development and law enforcement taxes.

Use tax revenue for Saline County in October totaled $102,144.29, up $5621.30 from the previous year and 34 percent ($26,011.82) better than the previous month. Use tax collections are all but certain to exceed previous year totals for at least the ninth consecutive year, as the county is averaging $93,997.04 per month heading into December.
