
The appointment of Michael Brown to the Lafayette County Commission was made permanent Monday, Nov. 24 by Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe.
In a statement, Kehoe announced that Brown would fill the seat of Southern District Commissioner, vacated when Brad McLaughlin accepted a position with Odessa R-VII Schools. Brown was mayor of Concordia from April 2016 until last month, and also provides technical services for the Trails Regional Library. Brown’s term is due for election in 2028.
The appointment is one of 11 announced Monday by Kehoe. Also announced Monday was the appointment of Robert Alpers of Prairie Home to Clean Water Commission. Alpers has served on several state and national commodity boards and is also the chairman of the Cooper County Ambulance District.
