The first full week of high school basketball is upon us, with a number of tournaments starting Monday, if Mother Nature allows.
That includes the 95th Annual Glasgow Invitational, with three games on our airwaves Monday evening. Beginning around 6 p.m., we’ll feature a doubleheader between Glasgow and Marceline, starting with the boys contest, with the girls game around 7:30 p.m. The Cairo and New Franklin boys are the nightcap and are slated to tip off around 9 p.m. These three games will air on KMMO-FM 102.9 and online at kmmo.com. Before our broadcasts, the Cairo and Slater girls will begin play around 4:30 p.m.
The Marshall boys will compete in the 87th Annual Tipton Boys Tournament. They have the four seed and will face California at 5:30 p.m. Pregame is slated for 5:20 p.m. on KMMO AM 1300. Other games scheduled from Tipton on Monday include top-seed South Callaway squaring off against Chamois at 4 p.m., Skyline and Versailles battling at 7 p.m., and second-seeded Camdenton battling the hosts at 8:30 p.m.
Also scheduled to begin tonight is Northwestern’s 70th annual tournament, with four games on tap. On the boys bracket, top-seed Brunswick faces Keytesville at 4:30 p.m., followed by Higbee and Northwestern. The lone girls game of the night is set for 7 p.m. between third-seed Meadville and Hale/Bosworth. That’s followed by the boys matchup between those two programs at 8:15 p.m.
