Snowfall on Monday, Dec. 1, will provide an idyllic backdrop for the annual lighting of the Higginsville Mayor’s Christmas Tree on Tuesday evening.

City administrator Jeanette Dobson says the tree lighting and parade are still on for tonight.

Dobson remarks on the city’s response to Monday’s weather, which saw four inches of snow fall in Higginsville.

After tonight’s parade, Santa will greet children at Santa’s Hut at 19th and Main. Dobson adds that the Higginsville Youth Commission has scheduled their Breakfast with Santa this Saturday morning at the American Legion. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with Santa paying a visit from 10 a.m. to noon.
