The Slater City Council is gearing up for the next Fiscal Year with the approval of the 2026 Budget.
The 2026 Fiscal Year begins January 1 for the City of Slater. City Administrator Gene Griffith presented on the budget during the City Council’s December 2nd meeting. Griffith notes there aren’t any rate increases in the budget, however, the City is seeing an increase in health insurance premiums.
Griffith also highlighted some of the projects the city wants to tackle in the $5.5 million budget.
The city also plans to begin a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) sidewalk project in 2026. The council approved both readings of a bill adopting the budget.
