Marshall Police responded to a pair of accidents Wednesday, Dec. 3 on U.S. Route 65 north of the intersection with Route 240, including a collision that sent two people to a nearby hospital.

The injury wreck occurred in the northbound lane of Route 65 around 2:15 p.m. According to Marshall Police, a vehicle driven by Austin Fox had slowed down and signaled to turn left into a business. As he was turning left, a pickup struck the rear of Fox’s vehicle, resulting in extensive rear-end damage. Fox reported a lower back injury, while one of his passengers, Rachel Fox, reported an injury to her right arm. The two were taken by ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment of their injuries. A second passenger in the car reported no injuries, while the pickup’s driver also indicated no injuries.

Earlier in the day, another two-vehicle collision caused traffic to stop in both directions along Route 65 for about 20 minutes. Police report no injuries from that collision, which occurred around 10:45 a.m.
