A Kansas man died after his vehicle went off a Lafayette County roadway Sunday, Dec. 7 as he was being pursued by law enforcement.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 67-year-old man refused to stop when a Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull him over. A pursuit ensued, which ended around 3:45 a.m. when the Kansan’s vehicle failed to make a left-hand curve traveling west on Old Route 40 just before Route M, three miles east of Odessa. Troopers say the vehicle overturned, ejecting the driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later. No other injuries were reported.
