The Blackburn Board of Aldermen authorized the hiring of of a part-time City Clerk during its meeting on Monday, December 8.

Elle Falls was voted in to fill the position for the next few months while the board looks for a full time replacement. Falls began her duties on December 9th, which is also the first day candidates could file for the 2026 April Municipal Election. Candidates can file at Blackburn City Hall during normal business hours until December 30th.

In other news, aldermen reviewed a draft of the City’s new handbook, which the board will consider for approval during its next meeting. The board also approved a motion to repair the heater at the Police Station and voted to dispose of an old salt spreader the city has no use for.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2026.
