The Moberly School District Board of Education approved language Tuesday, Dec. 9 adding to the April 2026 ballot a measure that would authorize the issuance of $11.5 million of bonds for facility improvements.
Supt. Cristina Wright says if approved by voters, the measure will result in no increase to the district’s debt service levy, which is currently at $1.1423 per $100 of assessed valuation.
Wright says the district is planning to host an informational meeting next month to inform the community about their plans for renovations to Moberly’s three elementary school buildings and the middle school.
Also Tuesday night, the board approved its calendar for the 2026-27 school year. Wright says with state law limiting how early the first day of school can be, Moberly will need to shorten one of their breaks next year.
Wright informed the board that last week’s weather resulted in Moberly using two of their built-in snow days. She says that the district has three more built-in days that they can use before turning to their allotment of alternate method of instruction or AMI days.
