
The Fayette Board of Aldermen discussed the purchase of an AMI meter reading system during their meeting Tuesday, Dec. 9.
City Administrator Deanna Cooper says it’s the next step as part of the city’s transition to electronic meters. She says the new system will record readings automatically.
Cooper says the reader from Core and Main of Columbia will allow the city to collect meter data at a centralized point.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the Fayette Board of Aldermen approved on second reading changes to the city’s ordinance concerning street parking, eliminating the need to consult with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission about proposed changes, Aldermen also updated their ordinance concerning the city administrator’s powers and duties. Discussion on a draft ordinance regarding occupancy limits was tabled to their next meeting, scheduled for Jan. 13.
