Keytesville R-III Schools will promote high school principal Zane Jacoby to district superintendent this summer.

The district announced Jacoby’s promotion last week, two years after he was hired to his current position. Jacoby says he’s excited to step into the new role beginning July 1.

Jacoby graduated from Westran High School in 2015 and was briefly on the Missouri Tigers football roster before turning his attention to a career in education. He previously taught at Centralia and Westran before making his way to Keytesville in 2024. Jacoby says he’s enjoyed the chance to learn and develop as an educator at each stop.

Jacoby will succeed Will Perkins, who is retiring after 31 years in education, including the past three in charge at Keytesville. The two will brief the district’s board of education on the transition process when the board meets Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. for their monthly meeting.
