The second reading of an ordinance repealing a section of the Concordia Municipal Code (Section 710) and replacing it with a new Sewerage Usage Ordinance was approved by the Board of Aldermen Monday night, requiring pretreatment for the city’s industrial users.

Aldermen approved the first reading during its December 1st meeting, making it available for public input prior to its approval on Monday, December 15th. City Administrator Dale Klussman says the ordinance also gives the city more legal authority to enforce its pretreatment regulations.

The board also approved a bid for a $250,000 lease loan from Central Bank for a ten-year property purchase at Northeast 7th Street. The loan includes a fixed interest rate of 4.25 percent and a $950 document fee. Klussman notes the city is using this property for storage purposes.

The board also accepted the resignation of Chad Collins, who served as a Reserve Officer for the Police Department for 14 years. The board will next meet on Monday, January 5, 2026.
