The Moberly City Council approved a bid to begin the process of clearing sewer main easements.

The council began its December 15th meeting with a public hearing reviewing each of the bids. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says the purpose of the work is to clear utility easements in remote area to allow access for maintenance and repairs.

The council approved the bid from Krog Holdings for the work on an annual basis with hourly charges not to exceed $100,000.

The council also authorized the Moberly Police Department to apply for a Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant through the U.S. Department of Justice. McGarvey says the the grant reimburses the city for 50 percent of the total cost of eight new ballistic vests for patrol staff.

The council’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2026.
