Two Slater men were injured—one seriously—after their truck went off the side of a roadway in Linn County the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the truck driven by a 61-year-old man went off the right side of Route ZZ, about two miles east of Marceline, as he was heading north at around 1:15 p.m. Troopers say that the driver then overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn. The vehicle then hit a road sign and mailbox. The driver had serious injuries and was flown to a Columbia hospital. A 19-year-old passenger in the cab was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital. Troopers also report that neither man was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
