The Pettis County R-V Board of Education agreed to provide an easement to allow a utility connection with a new tower near the elementary school in Houstonia.

Supt. Dr Amy Fagg tells KMMO News that the board agreed Tuesday, Dec. 16 to the easement, which will carry electrical lines to a new cell phone tower that Branch Communications will install in a neighboring lot. Also Tuesday night, the board formally appointed the district’s new bookkeeper as board treasurer, adopted a number of policy revisions, and accepted the audit report for fiscal year 2025.

Fagg also noted that filing for three seats available on the Board of Education in the April municipal election continues through Dec. 30. The seats are currently held by Matt Kahrs, Shelly Killion, and Janeene Williams. Fagg said that as of Thursday morning, two candidates had filed to run.
