The Sweet Springs R-7 Board of Education voted to place a bond measure on the April 2026 Municipal Election ballot during its meeting Wednesday evening.

The ballot language was approved by the board after a a positive analysis of the district’s financial status. Superintendent Lori Prices says the board is seeking this bond to fund improvements to the district’s facilities.

 

Price explains that this bond, Proposition K.I.D.S., is a no tax increase bond issue. She explains the difference between a bond issue and a tax levy.

 

The proposition will be placed on the General Municipal Election ballot on April 7th, 2026.

In other news, Price recognized students and faculty for the district’s Annual Performance Report (APR) score of 89.3 percent. The Board of Education will next meet on January 21st, 2026.
