A Brunswick man is facing several felony charges following a shot-fired incident in the city limits on Thursday, December 18.

According to a probable cause statement, deputies with the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of East Harrison around 4:50 p.m. in reference to the house being shot multiple times. Deputies made contact with the reporting party and observed eight bullet holes on the west side of the home.

Deputies reviewed video surveillance footage from the area, which showed a green pickup truck pull on the west side of the residence during the shooting. Deputies identified the vehicle and its driver as James White.

White was taken into custody at 7:36 p.m. Authorities discovered ten firearms positioned outside his residence and found eight spent shell casings inside the vehicle. White later admitted to firing at the residence, and disposing the firearm by tossing it in the Grand River.

White is facing charges for unlawful use of a weapon-shooting from a motor vehicle, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only, with no contact with the victims. No court dates have been set at this time.
