A new teacher will make her way to Slater Schools over the holiday break, while another instructor will move to another part of campus over the summer.

The board also approved renewing their umbrella insurance policy with the Missouri United Schools Insurance Consortium (MUSIC). Lorenz says it’s a welcome relief to see this policy increase by $183, compared to other increases in recent years.

Slater’s board of education also updated the district’s special education and local compliance plan, and approved a slate of policy updates while giving first reading to another round of updated policies from the Missouri School Boards Association. Lorenz noted that Slater’s staff and seniors were treated to an appreciation breakfast Friday morning, ahead of the final day of the fall semester.
