A two-vehicle collision on Route 13 south of Higginsville on Sunday, Dec. 21 claimed the life of a Warrensburg woman.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash just after 4 p.m. Sunday on the highway in Lafayette County, just north of the intersection with Route U. Troopers say that the 72-year-old woman was driving north on the highway when her vehicle began skidding sideways into the southbound lane. A pickup truck driven by a 48-year-old man from Arkansas collided with the Warrensburg vehicle, sending it off the left side of the roadway. The Warrensburg driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Arkansas driver received treatment for minor injuries at a nearby hospital.

The Patrol’s Troop A says this is the 74th fatal crash that its troopers responded to this year in their region.
