
Another area school district is welcoming home an alum to take over as superintendent.
The Linn County R-I School District announced Friday, Dec. 19 that Dr Kimberly Walters will become their superintendent beginning July 1. Walters graduated from Linn County in 1995 and is bringing with her 27 years of experience in education, most recently as an elementary school principal in Wentzville. She has also taught at Blair Oaks, Brookfield, Bucklin, and Hale.
In a statement, Linn County Board of Education president Jack Green said that board members reviewed applications from, “a multitude of strong candidates” and that Walters, “exhibit[s] strength in leadership, education experience, and sense of community pride that our board believes will continue to move the district in the right direction.”
Walters will succeed Ryan Livingston, who has spent 29 years at Linn County R-I.
