Despite collections slipping in November compared to the previous month, Saline County will wrap up 2025 with higher sales and use tax collections than the previous year.
Figures from the Missouri Department of Revenue were presented Wednesday, Dec. 17 by Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer at the county commission’s regular session. Those figures showed Saline County bringing in $116,257.22 of sales tax revenue during November, which was remitted to the county earlier this month. That figure is down six percent from the previous month but up four percent from the same month a year ago. Similar collection totals were reported for the economic development and law enforcement sales taxes.
Use tax saw a sizable decline from October’s six-figure total. $79,112.26 were collected in November, down 23 percent on the month but up 16 percent from a year ago.
For the year, Saline County averaged $117,633.39 per month in sales tax collections, finishing the year with a total of $1,411,600.70. Year-over-year that’s an increase of 1.5 percent. Use tax collections for the year were up seven percent from the previous year, totaling $1,113,079.73, or $92,756.64 per month on average.
