boil-advisory-1-21

Moberly water crews say they’ve repaired a second water main break that occurred in a southwestern Moberly neighborhood Tuesday, Dec. 23.

The city’s water office reported that crews needed to repair another break to the main on Conestoga Trace. That break occurred as crews were attempting to repressurize a line that had experienced a break Tuesday morning.  About 12 feet of weakened cast iron pipe was replaced.  The latest repairs were completed around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

As a result, residents on Conestoga Trace, along with Tara Park, Harvest Lane, and Trails End that experienced a loss of water service or low water pressure, will go under a boil advisory until Friday morning at the latest. Any water used for consumption should be boiled for three minutes and allowed to cool before drinking.

Moberly residents with questions about the advisory can call the city’s water office at 660-263-4420.
