The Boonville City Council voted to amend the solid waste collection fees in the city’s Code of General Ordinances, which will take effect at the beginning of the new year.

The second reading of the bill was passed with a 6-1 vote during the council’s December 15th meeting, with Ward 4 councilman Barry Elbert voting against the measure. The bill includes a 2.5 percent increase from Waste Management (WM) as well as an additional one percent from the city.

The change will take effect on January 1, 2026. The revised Schedule of Administrative Fees is linked here:december-15-council-packet.

The council also approved an agreement with the Missouri Department of Economic Development for funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The council was awarded CDBG funding to help construct a roundabout on the intersection of Main Street (Route B) and Americana. The city is receiving $500,000 in CDBG funds for the project.
