A Marshall man is facing charges of burglary and unlawful use of a weapon after Marshall Police were called to a number of disturbances early Monday, Dec. 22.

According to a probable cause statement, Marshall police were initially called to a residence around 3:30 a.m. that morning, where one of the victims accused 20-year-old Kamal Jett of brandishing a knife and threatening several people. The statement goes on to note that Jett allegedly broke into the home and threatened its residents with a knife from their kitchen block. One of the victims told officers that Jett had bitten him just before their arrival.

Officers then spoke with Jett and say that Jett had admitted to being in a physical altercation, and showed signs of intoxication. A short time later, Jett was accused of walking to another victim’s residence and threatening him with another knife.

Jett was arrested and is facing one count of burglary and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. His initial hearing was Tuesday morning in Saline County Circuit Court, where his bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
