A one-vehicle accident was reported on U.S. Highway 24 in Lafayette County at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 25.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Lexington man failed to negotiate the roundabout on U.S. 24 at Missouri 131. The vehicle traveled across the center of the roundabout and struck a sign before returning to the roadway.

The vehicle’s passenger, a 66-year-old Lexington woman, was injured in the crash and taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment. The driver had no reported injuries. The Patrol reports that both occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
