Two suspects are in custody after a child was reported dead in Lafayette County on Tuesday, December 23.

According to the Higginsville Police Department, officers were dispatched at 4 a.m. Tuesday to an area motel in reference to the death of a three-year old child.

Two subjects were arrested and taken into custody, where Lafayette County Prosecutors are seeking formal charges. The Higginsville Police Department is not releasing any additional information at this time. The names of the subjects will not be released until charges are filed.
