A motorcycle crash in eastern Nodaway County the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 27 claimed the life of a Carrollton man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred in the early afternoon hours on Route M, about five miles southwest of Stanberry. Troopers say the 35-year-old man was riding his bike east on the highway when about a quarter-mile east of the intersection with Route AE, he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then went down an embankment, struck a ditch, and overturned, ejecting the driver. The man was taken to a Maryville hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 2:20 p.m.
