Sherry J. Perkins, 83, of Slater, died Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Memorial services will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at Weiker Funeral Home, with Rev. Kaylee Rymer officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 until 10:30 at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat in care of the funeral home.

Born September 24, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Arnett Montgomery Shook.  On December 28, 1963 in Slater, she married Argie L. “Corky” Perkins, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2011.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelley McEachern and her husband John of Slater; a son, Stephen Perkins of Marshall; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Kathy Coleman and her husband Ed of Fort Worth, Texas.  She was preceded in death by a son, Shane Perkins.

Mrs. Perkins was a member of the Church of Christ in Fayette.  She was a 1960 graduate of Slater High School, and a graduate of Research Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing.  She worked as a surgical nurse at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall until her retirement.
