
Several area city councils are meeting for the first time in 2026, with regularly scheduled meetings set for Monday, Jan. 5.
The Concordia Board of Aldermen will meet at 5 p.m. to consider a lease purchase agreement of $250,000 for the purchase of land from Tyson, as well as new financial software for the city’s Utility Department. The board also plans to accept the Ballot of Candidates for Mayor and Ward One Alderman. The Moberly City Council, Higginsville Board of Aldermen, and Carrollton Town Council will all meet at 6 p.m.
The Sedalia City Council also meets Monday evening, with plans to amend their ordinance prohibiting Jake Braking in the city limits, and award the bid for this year’s sidewalk projects. The council will begin its meeting at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting of the Boonville City Council gets underway at 7 p.m. On the agenda Monday evening is the first reading of a bill amending the City Code regarding filling and surfacing on streets and sidewalks, as well as a discussion on the City’s budget.
