The Missouri Department of Transportation’s maintenance crews will start the new year with a pair of of shoulder repair projects this week in Saline County.

Crews will turn their attention Monday, Jan. 5 to Route 240 from Route 41 north to Glasgow, with flagging operations in place today and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning Wednesday, crews will focus on Route 127 from Interstate 70 north to Route 20, with flagging operations scheduled here until Friday. Shoulder work is also scheduled over the next two weeks on Route 240 in Howard County, with one lane remaining open.

Elsewhere, brush cutting operations are scheduled in Johnson and Lafayette counties. Route 224 between Giblin and County Farm roads will experience closures each day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow the work to take place. One crew will focus on Route B in southeastern Johnson County each day from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., while another crew will start on Route PP south of Warrensburg on Monday through Wednesday, then shift their attention to Route EE on Thursday and Friday. Flagging operations are in place while both crews are working. Brush cutting is also scheduled along U.S. Route 50 in Moniteau County, from Flag Spring Road outside California east to the Cole County line.

In Cooper County, one lane of Route 5 will close just south of Interstate 70 over the next three days for general roadside work. Similar work is also scheduled in Howard County along Routes T and U this week and in Morgan County along Routes FF and O. In Moniteau County, crews will keep one lane open along Route 87 as they replace a number of culverts. And in Macon County, sign work is underway along westbound U.S. Route 36 beginning Wednesday from U.S. Route 63 west to Long Branch Lake Road. A 12-foot width restriction will go in place each day from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
