The Town of Carrollton has renewed their agreement with Carroll County for the placement of a clerk in the city’s municipal court.

The intergovernmental agreement was the only action item listed on the Monday, Jan. 5 agenda of the Carrollton Town Council. Mayor Keith Higgins says it’s a continuation of the arrangement for a county employee to serve as Carrollton’s municipal court clerk on a part-time basis.

During his report, Higgins informed the town council of a request for a proclamation recognizing Jan. 16 as Religious Freedom Day. The council voted to support the proclamation. Higgins adds that with Jan. 19 being a federal holiday, the town council’s next meeting is likely to take place Wednesday, Jan. 21.
