Personal property assessment forms went out last week across Missouri, with county assessors encouraging taxpayers to return their forms as quickly as possible.
Saline County Assessor Jessica Adcock Goodman reminds residents to review the forms to make sure their personal property is listed accurately.
Goodman also reminds taxpayers to check the back of the form, as personal property isn’t limited to cars, trucks and personal watercraft.
Goodman advises taxpayers to submit their assessment forms as soon as possible, as state law requires a county assessor to levy a penalty ranging from $15 to $105, depending on the assessed value, for forms not returned by March 1.
